I just replaced a seven year old Weber 7552 cover with a new one.It has been outside through its entire lifespan.The cover I'm replacing shrunk to the point I was having trouble getting it on my grill.It had not cracked, ripped or failed in any other way.I reported the shrinkage problem to Weber and they were like "It happens..." and that's OK with me.
My Genesis Gold grill is worth protecting and this cover is cheaper than replacing grill parts.I prefer the long cover to the short on because it offers more protection and doesn't blow off.
