Weber 3880001 Genesis S-320 Natural Gas Grill, Stainless Steel Review

Weber 3880001 Genesis S-320 Natural Gas Grill, Stainless SteelThe Weber was top rated by a consumer testing firm and they are right.

It cooks great, has lots of power and can also cook at low temps.

I owned my last Weber for over 15 years and love this new one.

You can spend less and get lower quality and more for a bigger grill; but this grill looks great, cooks great and is big enough for most peoples needs.

Weber 3780001 Genesis S-320 Propane Gas Grill, Stainless Steel Review

Weber 3780001 Genesis S-320 Propane Gas Grill, Stainless SteelThe reason I bought this bbq was 1)it was rated the best bbq between $500 and $1000 by most all rating bureau's, 2)it uses high quality 302 s/s, 3)has s/s cooking racks which to me are easier to clean, 4) its a very pretty bbq, and 5) it's a Weber, made in the US.The E-320, withcolored panels, in my opinon, isn't as nice looking as the s/s unit.

I bought this bbq from Amazon about 10 days ago.It was shipped for free via Eagle Transportation.I think Amazon realized large items shipped UPS were arriving damaged. At least the few large items I previously ordered and shipped UPS arrived that way. The shipping estimate was 10-14 days with the free option.Four days after I saw that the item was shipped I received a call from Eagle's Los Angeles depot asking me when I wanted it delivered.I couldn't believe that !I told them the next day. They gave me a time frame, 10-1,asking if that was agreeable. At 11 Eagle arrived, off loaded my bbq in one huge box and asked where I wanted it.The box was completely intact and undamaged.I've never encountered that kind of service from any carrier.Cudos to Amazon on choosing this shipper.

Now, the bbq.Weber's Genesis S-320 LP.I'm a very handy guy with a garage full of tools.I unpacked all the parts and had them spread out on a blanket so I wouldn't scratch them on the cement floor.Everyone's greatest dread is the assembly instructions usually done in a foreign country and poorly translated in to English. But, since Weber is made in the USA, I found the step by step numbered instructions very easy to follow. All the little screws, washers, and bolts were nicely packaged and oh my goodness... they were all there. There were no shortages of any parts. One or two extras in a package would have been nice since I usually drop one of something and lose it somewhere under a bench in the garage.Anyway, the bbq went together effortlessly.I had my propane tank filled and used the weight hanger inside the stand which showed the tank was full.Another nice touch.

Now for the good part; using it.I did that tonight for the first time on Mother's Day.I thought that was appropriate.Anyway, I made cheesburgers - one of my most favorite bbq foods.I read the instructions on how Weber thought hamburgers should be cooked; medium heat with the lid down. They recommend always keeping hte lid down to cook and only opening it to turn the food or check to see if it's done.I also used the side burner just because... it's there.I've never had a bbq with a side burner and found it handy but a space hog.The bbq did what it is intended to do very well.It cooked my burgers in record time with the lid down.We also cooked corn on the cob wrapped in tin foil in the grill at the same time.Everything turned out great.

Now, my trivial gripes. The right side table has all the controls. That only leaves a very small amount of space between the control knobs and the bbq as a useable work area. One should be careful placing items in that area because being so close to the bbq it does tend to get a bit warm.I don't know why Weber couldn't put the controls on the front of the bbq leaving two nice sized working platforms.I found that a bit irritating especially when I used the left side burner.I had no place to set down plates, platters, etc.I had to pull up another small table.I don't know how often I'll actually use the side burner. If I don't use it ofen which I probably won't then it's really not an issue.

Did I say gripes?Well that's all I can think of.Overall, I'm very happy with the Weber Genesis S-320.I like it, alot.Would I buy it again if I only wanted to spend around $750??You bet !I can see why it's ratedhighly in all the reviews. And, you get Webers great guarantee and customer service.Go for it...you won't be disappointed.

Product Description:
For great flavor, gourmet searing, even cooking, multiple courses, easy cleaning, and good looks, nothing beats the Weber Genesis outdoor grill. An enclosed cart is great for storing cooking utensils and grilling supplies out of sight. Stainless steel doors, shroud, and handles look sharp, resist corrosion and are easy to clean. An accent-colored, painted steel frame offers plenty of cooking stability. A center-mounted thermometer makes it easy to monitor progress. And, for optimal durability over the years, Weber designed the Genesis with cast aluminum end caps.
The cooking system, rated at 42,000 Btu's, includes three seamless stainless steel burners and an electronic ignition system for easy starts. The cooking grates feature 7-milimeter-diameter stainless steel rods that won't warp or distort under flame for years of outdoor cooking fun. Weber's stainless steel, angled Flavorizer bars prevent fat- and grease-fueled flare-ups that over-sear foods. Rather than unwanted flames, juices drip on the bars where they sizzle and smoke; adding extra flavor to grilled chicken, steaks, and kabobs. And, if Bob wants burgers, Stacy wants steaks, and Vicky wants veggie burgers, there's plenty of room for all with 507 square inches of primary cooking area. Great for keeping the buns and side dishes warm with the entrees sizzle, the warming rack measures 130 square inches, for a total cooking area of 637 square inches. Top it off with a handy 12,000 Btu side burner for sauteing trimmings and you might opt for this grill over the kitchen stove--year round!
More great features include six tool holders, an enclosed tank storage area, a precision fuel gauge, two stainless steel work surfaces, two heavy duty locking front casters, and two heavy-duty swivel back casters. Don't know what to grill first? Weber throws in a handy cookbook so you can get summer grilling underway.

Weber 7552 Premium Cover, Fits Weber Genesis Silver/Gold Gas Grills Review

Weber 7552 Premium Cover, Fits Weber Genesis Silver/Gold Gas GrillsI just replaced a seven year old Weber 7552 cover with a new one.It has been outside through its entire lifespan. The cover I'm replacing shrunk to the point I was having trouble getting it on my grill. It had not cracked, ripped or failed in any other way.

I reported the shrinkage problem to Weber and they were like "It happens..." and that's OK with me.

My Genesis Gold grill is worth protecting and this cover is cheaper than replacing grill parts.I prefer the long cover to the short on because it offers more protection and doesn't blow off.

Weber 7541 Gas Grill Smoker Review

Weber 7541 Gas Grill SmokerI have the Weber Genesis grill Weber 3741001 Genesis E-310 Propane Gas Grill, Black and wanted a smoker. I had a generic smoker box and it sits on top of the flavor bars and never got very hot so very little smoke. The Weber Smoker puts the wood chips directly on the flavor bars getting them hot very fast and producing a lot of smoke. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is they say to clean the ash out after each use but much of it tends to fall into the bottom of the grill due to the large openings of the bars. I still highly recommend this product.

Weber 3741001 Genesis E-310 Propane Gas Grill, Black Review

Weber 3741001 Genesis E-310 Propane Gas Grill, BlackThere's really nothing more that can be said to further the reputation of this series of grills. Those of us that own the Genesis E-310 series grill know how well this grill is manufactured, and just how very well it performs its duties. It is, by far, the very best gas grill in this price range I have ever owned or used.A couple of notes:
-The cross-over ignition system works wonderfully (it takes less than 3 seconds to fire up all three burners
-Those who say that their gas grill does not get hot enough to sear meats don't own this grill- I've had it up to 550 degrees on a very cold MN winter day
-That said, it seems to go through a good amount of propane when running all 3 burners on high...but that is probably obvious considering the temps you can obtain when running it on full.(It will be interesting to see if I can get 500 + degrees to sear meats on medium setting on a summer day....).The fuel gauge inside the cabinet is also a handy feature
-As always with this series of grills- No Flare ups, and the flavorizer bars do what Weber says they will, namely vaporize fats and juices into smoke that adds flavor to what you are grilling
-To keep this review balanced, there is one negative- I dislike the tool holders.Although there are plenty, your tools pretty much have to have one of those leather hanging loop things to keep the tools from falling off or even to use the holders (a small price to pay I guess)

Finally, the Genesis E-310 I purchased came in a copper color, something I haven't seen on Amazon, or on Weber's site for that matter.Maybe I missed it, or maybe I got lucky.Either way, it looks pretty darn sharp on our deck when it isn't covered.

Weber 7555 Premium Cover for Weber Summit 600-Series Gas Grills Review

Weber 7555 Premium Cover for Weber Summit 600-Series Gas GrillsMy grill stayed in the garage until this cover arrived. When it did arrive, I was very pleased with the overall quality and workmanship from Weber... Nothing to be surprised there... There is only one thing I was not happy with (see below).

Pros:
- The grill cover is very heavy duty, thick material
- Perfect fit for my Summit S-620
- Velcro straps to secure the cover just in case of super high tornado speed winds
- Breathable to prevent those hot humid days from leavings marks on your grill

Cons:
- A little pricey, but a small price to pay to protect a big investment
- Vents in cover are not as shows in picture. The one I received has the vents where the 45-degree slope is, meaning, if rained on, the water will get all on to the side tray & side burner :(

Weber 426001 Q 300 Propane Gas Barbecue Review

Weber 426001 Q 300 Propane Gas BarbecueI've had the Q300 for about 10 weeks and grilled on it 3-4 times per week. Grilled steaks, roasts, chicken (both direct and indirect heat), pork
loins, hamburgers and hotdogs and the Q300 handled it all.

Gets hot fast:
From start with both burners on high...3 minutes grill is at 310 degrees....7 minutes 400 degrees.....10 minutes 520 degrees....14 minutes maxes out at 590 degrees

I like to cook chicken and pork over indirect heat, so I really like having the two burners with separate controls. The larger burner runs the perimeter of the grill and a second, smaller burner, goes down the center.

Outside burner only (High)..maintains 400 degrees,(Low)..300 degrees
Center burner only (High)..maintains 300 degrees,(Low)..200 degrees
Both burners on (High)..maintains 590 degrees, (Low)..500 degrees

Heavy duty cast-iron cooking grates. Grates dimensions are 25" x 17.5".

Weber 6550 Vinyl Cover for Weber Baby Q, Q-100, and Q-120 Grills Review

Weber 6550 Vinyl Cover for Weber Baby Q, Q-100, and Q-120 GrillsI was hoping for more of a tight fit around the base of the grill but all this cover really does is drape over. There are cords that can be tightened but, since the cover is somewhat undersized even for my Q120, it can only be tightened a little.

I feel like a large plastic bag would have accomplished the same thing as this cover.

Weber 516002 Q 120 Gas Grill Review

Weber 516002 Q 120 Gas GrillThe Weber Q120 is a fantastic little grill. As a vegetarian, I wasn't sure just how much I'd actually use a grill, and didn't want to BBQ on something that felt unstable or flimsy... well... I've had the grill for almost a month now and I think I've only missed grilling 2 of those days.

Veggie kabobs are a breeze (it holds 6 perfectly) as are bocaburgers, tofurkey beer brats, and jumbo dogs.I'm sure for my carniverous friends, it would work equally well.

I'm loving it so much I just ordered a cookbook today for vegetarian grilling so that I can expand my repetoire (sic).

Best Features:
- easy to put together
- cast iron grate
- shape/size
- fantastic electric starter that doesn't have an 'explosive' start to it

It is worth the price... I think it will last a good long time.

Weber 3751001 Genesis E-320 Propane Gas Grill, Black Review

Weber 3751001 Genesis E-320 Propane Gas Grill, BlackI've wanted a new grill for my lake cottage for several years. It had to be of high quality & also versatile because it is our primary cooking area during the summer months. It had to be large enough to handle a crowd yet easy enough to use for just the wife & myself. The cottage is on an island, so reliability was extremely important - I didn't need to be shacking about for parts or God forbid, returning the unit.

This piece is quality! Quality! Quality! It is a TANK! If this unit was a SUV - it would be a Hummer! The controls are easy to use & precise. The cooking is even with no chance of flare-ups.I have grilled, done a rotisserie, and even baked a jumbo chicken in it - it is a dream.

I was going to spend almost twice as much until my wife put in her 2 cents.I read the reviews and this unit consistently came up on the best of the best under $1500.I can not imagine what one would want or expect a grill to do that has a price tag of $2K? -- But they're out there. No, it isn't the biggest, but I cooked for over 25 people at an all day picnic and there were no issues. No it doesn't have a fancy radiant heater - who really needs that?

I am simply a frugal New England Yankee (and Red Sox fan!) that insists on getting my money's worth. You WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED if you choose this grill.

Weber 7519 Gas Grill RotisserieI have only used the rotisserie unit twice - spinning chickens both times and the results were fabulous.(To those who have never done a rotisserie chicken at home and don't know why it could possibly be worth the bother (when grocery stores, Costco, etc. all have them) my only advice is that you really just need to try one done right. Then, do a leg of lamb, a beef roast, and you'll understand.)This is a powerful, quiet motor and a nice stainless spit.I loaded my first chicken relatively unevenly, and the motor put up no fuss at turning it.One comment, make sure when installing the motor braket you put the nuts inside the firebox - otherwise the lid of the grill will not shut.Great grill, great accessory.

Weber 6501 6' Adapter Hose For Weber Q Series & Gas Go-Anywhere Review

Weber 6501 6' Adapter Hose For Weber Q Series & Gas Go-AnywhereApparently this same hose is packaged under several different Weber part numbers for some strange reason.Buy this hose only if you have no squirrels or other rodents where you live. They like the taste (maybe it's grease that drips on it), and bite right through causing a leak. They ruined mine after just 1 month of use. A far better quality product that does the same thing is the Freedom Grill FG-50HA hose. It is stainless steel braid hose, and animal proof. It is slightly shorter, but still plenty long enough to reach from the Q grill at table height to a 20 lb cylinder on the ground. Thanks for earlier reviews that point to the FG-50HA. I bought it and it works great with my Q.

Weber 7553 Premium Cover for Weber Genesis Gas Grills Review

Weber 7553 Premium Cover for Weber Genesis Gas GrillsI just received this from Amazon (not a third-party reseller) last week, and am happy to report that Weber has listened to their customers and stopped with the vents.

This cover is form-fit for my Weber Genesis S-320, and other Genesis 300 series grills. It looks great, and the velcro straps (which are now placed where the vents are pictured) keeps it from blowing off my grill. The material is quite dense, and the quality of the stitching is very good.

Having seen some of the cheaper covers that aren't much more than tarp stitched in the shape of a grill, I was happy to spend a few bucks more. It isn't cheap, but you get something high quality that makes your grill look nice even when it isn't being used.

I used to own the Weber 7552 Cover, which I had on my old Genesis Silver B, and after three years, the thing still looked nice when I sold it, without so much as a loose stitch (though it did have the wonky vent over the handle). This cover feels like it's even higher quality. Totally worth it, as far as I'm concerned.

Update: I've added three pictures of the grill cover I received. Take a look!

Weber 566002 Q 220 Gas Grill Review

Weber 566002 Q 220 Gas GrillFirst off, let me say I love this grill. It is fantastic.
Cons:
-Grill is a little on the heavy side.Cast iron grate, quality components and a sturdy base all combine to make this a little heavier than other portable grills. This is compared to my last portable grill, a shoddy lightweight grill made by Coleman.

Pros:
-Cast iron cooking surface. This is my first time with cast iron as opposed to the skinny stainless steel wires that most grills have.I'll never go back.
-Solid construction.Every piece looks and feels like it was made with quality materials.
-Two side tables. What can I say, they're extra useful
-Thermometer
-Taller grill lid than the q200 series.Lets you cook a larger roast or something else tall.Probably wont fit a Beer can chicken though (although I'm definitely going to try)
-Utensil hooks for grilling tools
-Precision flame control
-Fits a variety of propane tanks (you may need the adapter, sold separately)
-Has an excellent line up of accessories.I've also go the rolling cart on the way, it looks great.

Don't forget to buy the duffel or vinyl cover if you're going to be storing this outside. You wouldn't want dust and pet hair to cover your hardcore grilling machine.

100% satisfied, A+ product.

Followup (April 6, 2010):
I ended up buying a couple of accessories that I think really bring this grill together. We live in a apartment, and I find each of these to be indispensable:
Weber 6551 Vinyl Cover for Weber Q, Q-200, and Q-220 Gas Grills
Weber 6507 Rolling Cart
Weber 6503 Q Handle Light

Weber 396002 Q 200 Portable Gas Grill Review

Weber 396002 Q 200 Portable Gas GrillI am writing this long term review because as so many reviews are just initial impressions when the product is new. They are hard to find, but some people will write a review later in the product's life cycle, especially if they have had problems. This is not one of those "problem" reviews. The Weber Q is my all time favorite grill.

Background Info:

I bought my "Q" back in 2004 when they first came out; there were only two models at the time, the Q and the Baby Q.The overall design theory and execution of a portable gas grill was amazing in my eyes - like nothing I had ever seen before.I was in the market for a gas grill, and the portable nature yet still nice enough to grill on a daily basis design sold me instantly.I had used my dad's Weber gas grill since he bought it new in the mid 90's (comparable to today's Genesis models) and was impressed in every aspect, especially the longevity and quality of the components compared to "big box store" look-a-like grills. The price for a standalone Weber, like my dad's, was too high in my opinion, and I wanted more for my money. The Q's dual nature fit the bill perfectly. In addition to the Q, I bought about every accessory available at the time:rolling cart, Weber Q specific tools, cover, hose for external LP tank, etc.Every accessory followed right in line with the Q's portable design intent. The tools are my favorite as they snap into the side tables and easily fold up inside enhancing the go-anywhere part of the design.I recently (Summer 2008) upgraded my home setup to include the stationary cart for a more finshed look at home on the back patio.Performance:

The grill holds a surprisingly large amount of food.I can grill for the whole family or more with no problems, (This totally depends on what you are grilling).I have grilled everything from the ubiquitous burgers, dogs, and brats to fajita meat and vegetables to corn on the cob and steaks.I can even fit 2-3 whole racks of ribs on the Q.Heating is surprisingly even with the rectangular shaped burner (which is stainless steel and after 4 seasons is showing zero signs of wear, corrosion, etc.).The heavy, thick cast iron grate should get most of the credit for the even heating.I really like the wide bars and tight spacing of the grate; I can grill sliced veggies and meats as if I were cooking on a skillet with no fear of them falling though.Temperature control is ultra easy with the single burner knob.I have taken the Q tailgating at sporting events, to picnics at the park, to friends' parties, etc. and it has performed flawlessly. It offers tons of cooking room for the size and minimal effort to bring along with the clever design of the grill and accessories.People are always amazed when they watch me unpack/pack the Q.Other than an occasional and end of season cleaning, this thing is maintenance free.Just brush off the grate, check the drip pan, and clean out the burned drippings in the bottom from time to time.

Final Thoughts:

Looking back at my Q experience, I wouldn't have it any other way. In fact, I can't imagine owning any other gas grill - except another Q.If the day comes when I have to replace my beloved Q, I would probably stick with the original size, the 200 series; it is the perfect balance. The 300 series looks nice with the bigger size and extra burner, but I don't necessarily need the size and I feel it loses some of the portable utility that makes the original Q so great.

Weber 4421001 Spirit E-310 LP Gas Grill, Black Review

Weber 4421001 Spirit E-310 LP Gas Grill, BlackGot tired of buying inexpensive grills that only lasted a few years. My wife had owned a Weber grill years ago and she thought that they were the "best".She could give a lecture on the pluses that they have.

Since there are only two of us, I found that this was the Weber for us.Not too expensive and small enough to be able to move around.

Amazon shipped it thru CEVA, and they called and delivered it on the time agreed upon.Very professional service.

OK-now for the review of the grill.
Was impressed by the way it was packed.Lots of reinforced cardboard, all the parts were tightly wrapped, and great care was apparent in the effort to prevent scratching or rubbing of parts.

HOWEVER, putting it together was a real pain.It took me about two hours, (by myself). But what I really didn't like was the assembly instructions. THERE WERE NO WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS.The entire assembly instruction sheet was a series of photos.Found it very tiring.Maybe I'm just getting old, but I like the "put section A together with 1 inch bolts etc).I was beginning to wonder if Weber made these instructions for people that can't read.

I was impressed with the way the parts fit together.Nothing sloppy and all of the holes lined up.Everything seemed to be of exceptional quality. Heavy lid and box.

Fired it up after assembly and it hit 600 degrees in about 5 minutes.Perfect blue flame in all burners, and although the top got extremely hot, the side trays remained cool.Nice and even heat all throughout the box, with sensitive flame adjustment throughout the entire range of the individual knobs.

I liked the idea of being able to buy various parts for replacement. The warranty is a generous one, and seems to be an indication of the quality of their product. Although this grill is a little pricey, it should last years with proper cleaning and maint.Did I mention what a great price it was?

Good buy.

Weber 586002 Q 320 Portable Outdoor Gas Grill Review

Weber 586002 Q 320 Portable Outdoor Gas GrillBeen waiting for awhile to find a good deal on this, but Amazon's got the best price with shipping you are going to find.$0.01, doesn't get much better than that. What surprised the heck out of me was ordering early Thursday morning and finding at my doorstep Friday before noon.FedEx overnight, somebody loves me.This was supposed to ship ground.

I've bought a Weber Q several years ago, so I already know what the fuss is about.Cast iron grill, great cook platform, etc.I've never used a cover, so over the years, I've had to replace burners, etc. as they corroded and degraded. Not Weber's fault, but Weber customer service is the greatest, 24/7 etc., cheerfully helped identify what I needed and sent me the replacement parts.

I've been enviously looking at the 300 and when I saw the specs on the 320, I knew I was looking at my next Weber.

I thought I knew what I was getting, but I was pleasantly surprised at what I unboxed. This one is even cleverer than the original.

Stationary Cart is a well thought out design.Stable, with safety features I've never seen implemented as well. The Tank storage system that locks the propane tank in place so it can't shift and also provides the cart with a counterweight to help prevent tips is a marvel by itself. The collapsible shelf system is elegant and functional while feeling more substantial than the Q200's fixed shelfs.

The slightly larger cooking area is served by split cast iron grills instead of the single grill piece used by the Q200.This actually makes this grill easier to clean and service, while taking nothing away from the cook area.A stainless steel warming rack is a nice place to put up food from the grill surface.Just sits there but is totally substantial and stable.

A second burning tube, stainless steel to prevent rusting out provides the additional heat and controls to bring the grill up to the temperatures I need to cook in colder weather.40degrees last night, and the grill still heated up to over 400 degrees in about 5 minutes.

Thermostat is simple, and will be easy to replace in the event of breakage or failure. This has an integral BBQ light that has a sensor that automatically turns it off when the lid is lowered.Very cool.

I have never been satisfied with the old style igniter on the previous Q models. The Q320 now has a electronic igniter that works great.Uses a AAA battery.Press a button and poof.Weber's lit.The outer burner ignites the center burner automatically.

Assembly was easy with two of us, but this could have been assembled easily by one person.Directions could have been better, but pictures worked fine.

Food tastes great.Looking foward to putting through it's paces this summer.

Already bought my grill cover. This time I don't plan on abusing Weber Customer service as much .

Weber 4411001 Spirit E-210 Propane Grill, Black Review

Weber 4411001 Spirit E-210 Propane Grill, BlackI rented a house in Sedona, Arizona for a month where they had a gas grill. Friends visited and grilled up some outrageous steaks and salmon. I had a little Weber Smokey Joe at home that I had not used for years. The charcoal system became too dirty and too much trouble. I never purchased a gas grill as I thought that really great tasting food could not be created on a gas grill.

When I returned home from my trip I went to Target, Walmart and Home Depot shopping for grills. Home Depot had a full-featured, large stainless steel grill on sale. Orginal price $369 - Sale price $199. The floor unit was the only one remaining unit in all the Phoenix stores. I won't mention the brand name. I purchased the grill and arranged for friends to pickup the following day as it was too big to load into my SUV. I knew it was poorly constructed but the price was too tempting.

When I got home that evening I started reading reviews on the grill that I had just purchased. Nearly all of them were negative. I saw the Webers on the floor at Home Depot. The quality was CLEARLY superior. However, they were also considerably more expensive. I decided that I wanted a pleasant grilling experience. I could not picture having friends over for dinner and having burner difficulties.

I returned to Home Depot early the next morning. canceled the original purchase and purchased the Weber Spirit E-210. I had Home Depot assemble the grill for me.

Cooking on a gas grill is a either a science or art. If you don't know how to do it, the results will be poor. I watched a gas grilling video on [...] by an executive chef from Morton's Steak House. [...]
This video got me going in the right direction. The key points are high heat preheat and closed cover cooking. You can copy and paste the link to the video into your browser.

This grill heats up to 600 degrees quickly. Everything about it is quality, quality. There is a wonderful disposable drip pan system with foil drip pans. The grill plates are heavy steel meaning you will get even heating over all of your meats. Some other reviews mention this unit as having too small a cooking area. Obviously they are cooking for soccer teams. In my opinion, this grill is big enough for any family. There is no side burner or rotisserie although an attachment can be purchased. I have a Showtime rotisserie so that wasn't a big deal for me.

I love this grill. It is truly one of the quality items that I own.

Weber 386002 Q 100 Portable Gas Grill Review

Weber 386002 Q 100 Portable Gas GrillI've been using a Q100 / Baby Q for over 2 years now, and am still impressed by the quality of the product and what I'm able to do with it given it's small size. Here's the set up:

Q100 Grill
Weber Cart
Bulk tank adapter
5-lb. propane tank

The grill surface is large enough for a family of four. Six 1/3 lb. burgers fit well enough; more and they are hard to turn. I've also been able to do two average sized tri-tips at once. The lid isn't tall enough to allow a whole chicken. I was a bit wary of the 8K BTU rating at first, but the grill heats up just fine- it will do a wonderful sear on pretty much anything after 7-10 minutes of preheat. The heat is also very even, with the virtually whole grill surface usable. The best thing about the small burner is fuel efficiency; 5 lbs. of propane lasts all season (in SoCal!) at 1-2 uses per week. Please note that this is a single burner grill with a ring-shaped burner. Indirect cooking isn't really possible although on low heat, one can get close enough to do justice to a tri-tip.

I've only got a couple of small complaints... First, the support ring for the portable tank (at least with the Baby Q) only accepted 14 oz. propane bottles- the kind used with plumber's torches. They are more expensive than the 16 oz. bottles used for camping. I just made my own 16 oz. bottle ring out of a heavy coat hanger. Of course with the bulk tank, this is a non-issue. The 5 lb. tank (from Home Depot) is pretty small. Second, the grill is somewhat sensitive to wind. A good breeze blowing through the sides causes a definite loss of temperature above the grill surface, under the lid. Cooking is still possible but times go up about 30-40%. Last, the holes in the burner can get clogged up, especially when there's a lot of liquid pouring off the grill surface. I've had to 'unclog' parts of the burner with a push-pin a couple of times now.

Anyway, I love the product as it's about 75% of a full-size grill at 1/3 the size and 1/4 the price, within its limits (grill area). I think the only thing I'd do differently is get the version with the side tables (Q120).

Weber 1520 Propane Gas Go-Anywhere Grill Review

Weber 1520 Propane Gas Go-Anywhere GrillI bought one of these things ten years ago and despite twice replacing it with big, traditional-looking (and very expensive) grills I keep coming back to this one.In fact, when we bought our latest one at a localfireplace/grill store, the owner just couldn't stop talking about thischeap little grill. He confided to me in a low voice that if I were tolift the lid of his own $2500 home gas barbecue, I'd find this little gemsitting inside because it's all he uses too.
Why?It's not ease ofcleaning or durability or any of that stuff (they rust out after a fewyears sitting on the porch). And you'd better buy a big propane bottlewith an adapter hose if you don't want to those little gas cylinders tosuddenly empty out on you mid-meal while you're cooking for guests...No,the reason I adore this is that it just plain grills better than anythingelse on the market - and we've tried a lot of them.
My wife, the culinaryschool grad, thinks it's the "flavorizer" that does it (the metalpan that replaces those awful lava rocks). When we grill salmon we justcover that metal pan with alderwood chips and let the smoke penetrate thefish while it grills with the lid on tight - flat out beating everyrestaurant or neighborbood grilled fish ever made.Friends of mine simplywon't cook salmon for us.
Even though we virtually never clean the thing,it simply does the best job flavor-wise of all our grills. If you crank itup to high for 10 minutes, then grill with the top closed (never open) youget very consistent heat which is the secret to good grilling.
Somecookbook author who writes barbecue books constantly repeats the phrase"Know Your Fire" like a mantra. This fire is 100% consistent, heats up in minutes (again, no lava rocks to soak up heat) and producessuperb results for us.If you know your fire, this is the fire to know.
